Download Recorded GetSmart! Webinar: Using CIS/2 to Increase Efficiency and Accuracy in Structural Modeling and Detailing
During this webinar recorded April 20, 2011, “Using CIS/2 to Increase Efficiency and Accuracy in Structural Modeling and Detailing,” Simon Hobson of AceCad Software Ltd. and Aimee Ferguson of Intergraph discuss how Intergraph Smart 3D (SmartPlant® 3D and SmartMarine® 3D) solutions can interact with third-party structural detailing and analytical tools.

The CIMsteel (CIS/2) integration standard is used to support Smart 3D bi-directional data import/export for structural objects. It will facilitate a more error-free design because the model can be reused in the detailing or analytical product, saving time and increasing accuracy.

This webinar includes demonstrations from both Smart 3D and StruCad of the common workflows that an EPC will perform during the life cycle of the design process, including modeling, detailing, and analysis. AceCad’s StruCad Evolution product is a 3D structural steel detailing and information management system with rapid automatic fabrication shop drawing and CNC production delivery.

Topics and demonstrations include:
  • Workflow considerations: Structural design in Smart 3D, export to StruCad for structural detailing
  • Advantages of CIS/2 transfer as opposed to remodeling or referencing
  • Tips for import/export mapping
  • Introduction to detailing in StruCad
  • Roundtrip of structure model, including modifications and additions
When registering for this webinar, we ask that you use your business information, including your business email address, due to export compliance guidelines. You will receive en email with a link to download the recording.
